11th International Triticale Symposium

The technical programme of the International Conference will consist of plenary lectures, lead papers, contributory papers, discussions with scientists, breeders,policy planners, representatives from Industry and NGO's, poster presentation and an exciting exhibition.

OBJECTIVES:

  1. Review the current global status of Triticale production and identify long term challenges for   Triticale to be an integral component of food, feed, and national security as well as sustainabili  ty;
  2. Suggest strategies using modern biotechnological and conventional plant breeding   techniqu  es to achieve Triticale genotypes with high grain yield, better end use quality and tolerance    to abiotic and biotic stresses;
  3. Provide an opportunity to exchange knowledge and technologies on Triticale production, im  provement and marketing;
  4. Establish international Triticale consortium/forum/network of researchers and devel  opment functionaries in a global network mode for international cooperation in triticale devel  opment.

MISSION

International Triticale Association Poland, EUCARPIA, IHAR-PIB, Radzikow being scientific and developmental organizations, are primarily interested in science-based and policy-related contributions in all areas of relevant research on sustainable development, food and nutritional security, bio-energy, environmental and agricultural sustainability as per UN Millennium goals, so that steps can be suggested for implementation using modern bio– and nanotechnologies and conventional triticale breeding and protection.

THEMES

Contributors to the Symposium are requested to specify a title of their intended presentation which  will fit the following themes and related topics.

  1. Triticale biology, taxonomy , biodiversity and genetic resources,
  2. Genetics, breeding and biotechnology including tissue culture and its applications in Triticale improvement,
  3. Physiology, tolerance to biotic and abiotic stresses and maximizing input use efficiency,
  4. Production, crop management through judicious agronomy and plant protection,
  5. End use and nutritional quality value addition, food and feed products and industrial uses;
  6. Marketing, policy and socio-economic issues,
  7. Seed production, participatory plant breeding, and international cooperation,
