Delegation from Algeria in IHAR-PIB - photo report
OnJuly 23-27th, 2015 IHAR-PIB in Radzików hosted a delegation of experts from Algeria composed of:
- Mrs. Nadia Hadjres, Directrice de la Protection des Végétaux et du Contrôle Technique,
- Prof. Omar Zaghouane, Directeur Général de l’Institut Technique des Grandes Cultures/ITGC,
- Prof. Said Amrar, Directeur General de l’ITCMI Staoueli,
- Prof. Moumene Khaled, Director General on National Institute of Plant Protection.
The main reason of the visit was to discuss the existing cooperation and clarification of the conditions for further cooperation in science and business..
On July 23th, the delegation visited theIHAR-PIB headquarters and experimental fields in Radzików, where quests had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with research carried in IHAR-PIB, in particular with the preliminary studies in triticale, wheat and corn. Guests watched also a plantation of Miskantus used to obtain biomass.
On July, 24th quests from Algeria visited the Potato Breeding Zamarte Ltd., Co. IHAR Group, where they had the opportunity to familiarize to the collection of varieties breeding in the Company and discusses the conditions for further cooperation aimed at testing the varieties of potato in the Algeria conditions and the acquisitions of Algeria varieties for breeding purposes.
On July 25th, our esteemed quests visited Plant Breeding Smolice Ltd., Co. IHAR Group, where they had the opportunity to familiarize with the varietal offer of the Company and see the production and breeding fields. In the framework of cooperation Company declared to send corn varieties for testing in Algeria conditions and the possibility of purchasing seeds of other cereals.
On July 26th, representatives of science and the Ministry of Agriculture of Algeria had the opportunity to familiarize with the varieties collection of Plant Breeding Strzelce Ltd., Co. IHAR Group and establish the conditions for further cooperation with the prof. Zaghouane from ITGC. Director of the ITGC briefly presented the results of testing Polish varieties provided in Algeria conditions in 2010-2013. It was agreed that cooperation with the Company will continue in a wider range of species and varieties.
On July 27th, our quests visited Radzików again, where they took part in the summary of the results of visits to the Companies. Both sides expressed the willingness to further cooperation with both academic and commercial, the Algerian side provided details of the possibility of the approval of Polish varieties in Algeria. Guests also had the opportunity to visits a biomass boiler at the Experimental Station in Radzików and IHAR-PIB research laboratories, including among others, Laboratory of Quarantine Organisms and the Gene Bank.
On the last day of visit (July 28th) Director IHAR-PIB professor Edward Arseniuk, D.Sc.and the entire delegation from Algeria were invited to the Ministry of Agriculture, where Undersecretary of State Zofia Szalczyk confirmed readiness of Poland to actively cooperate with Algeria and assured assistance from the Ministry.
