Welcome Letter

Dear Colleagues and Friends,

it is our pleasure and privilege to announce that the 11th International Triticale Symposium
will be organized by

Plant Breeding and Acclimatization Institute - National Research Institute

in collaboration with:

European Association for Research on Plant Breeding

and

International Triticale Association.

Symposium will be held on June 26 – 29, 2022 in Warsaw, the capital of Poland. We believe that 11th ITS is an excellent and exceptional event that enables research to meet practice. A special format is designed to bring together and foster dialogue among academics and breeders and offer delegates the chance to consider pressing global issues, take on new perspectives, and build strong new friendships that span across the globe.

The scientific program of the Symposium will encompass a broad spectrum of triticale-related topics that explore innovative research advances and breeding applications:

1. Challenges and prospects - genetic resources and biodiversity.
2. Improving acclimation to abiotic stress.
3. Improving resistance to biotic stress.
4. Increasing quantity of biomass and grain yield.
5. From lab to field - breeding and biotechnology.
6. Crop management - agronomy, plant protection, marketing policy, socio-economic issues.
7. Farm to fork - nutritional value, food and feed products, industrial uses.

We invite you to share your knowledge and views with respect to the above goals, but please note, the list is not meant to exclude other applicable areas.

Conference Organizing Committee will undertake every effort to make the forthcoming symposium an interesting and attractive scientific international event and to make your visit to Poland and your stay enjoyable and unforgettable. However, due to the current geopolitical situation as well as the COVID-19 virus pandemic still spreading worldwide and disrupting travelling opportunities, the Symposium organizers will arrange the conference in a hybrid formula, opening up alternative possibilities to participate online.

We look forward to an intellectually stimulating, and enjoyable Symposium, and we hope to see you soon.

We are committed to answering your further questions concerning Symposium also via e-mail: 11th.ITS@ihar.edu.pl.

Sincerely yours,

Organising Committee
